Privacy Policy
What this site collects, what it deliberately does not, and what you can ask us to do about it.

The short version
VoyageLedger has no accounts, no sign-up, no newsletter, and no tracking cookies of its own. The planning tools run entirely inside your browser, so the passport you pick, the budget you set, and the packing list you build never reach us. The only personal information we ever hold is an email you choose to send us.
That is the whole of it. The sections below explain the detail, including the third parties involved in hosting the site and, in future, funding it.
Who is responsible
VoyageLedger is an independent travel information site operated by an individual based in India. Under data protection law that operator is the data controller for this site — the party answerable for how your information is handled.
VoyageLedger is not a registered company. For any privacy question, correction, or request covered by this policy, write to info@voyageledger.com. That address reaches a person directly, not a ticketing system.
What we collect
Server and network logs
This site is a set of static files served through Cloudflare Pages. Like every web host, Cloudflare records technical information about requests: IP address, approximate location derived from it, browser and device type, the page requested, and the time. This happens at the network level, before our code runs, and is used to serve the site, defend against attacks, and keep it available. We do not build profiles from these logs and cannot connect them to a named person.
Email you send us
If you write to us, we hold your email address, your message, and anything you attach, for as long as it takes to deal with it and to keep a record of corrections made to the site. We do not add correspondents to a mailing list, because there isn't one, and we never sell, rent, or pass on an address.
Analytics
As of 21 August 2026, VoyageLedger runs no analytics software at all — no Google Analytics, no tag manager, no pixel, no session recording. If that changes we will name the provider in this policy before it goes live, and choose a privacy-respecting one where we can.
What the tools never see
This is worth stating separately, because it is unusual. The visa checker, travel budget calculator, packing list generator, and currency converter are built as browser-side tools. When you select a passport, a destination, a nightly budget, or a trip length:
- Nothing is transmitted to a VoyageLedger server, because there is no application server.
- Nothing is written to a cookie or to your browser's local storage.
- Nothing is retained once you close or reload the tab.
- No account is required, and no email is ever requested to see a result.
The datasets behind the tools are shipped with the page itself and the calculation happens on your device. Your itinerary is genuinely your business.
Cookies
VoyageLedger sets no cookies of its own. Cloudflare may set a small number of strictly necessary cookies for security and load balancing. Third-party advertising and affiliate partners, once active, set their own — those are covered in full in the Cookie Policy.
Third parties
Four categories of third party are involved in running this site.
Hosting — Cloudflare
Cloudflare Pages serves the site and provides its content delivery network and security layer. Requests pass through Cloudflare's infrastructure and are subject to their privacy terms.
Images — Unsplash
Photographic headers are loaded from images.unsplash.com. Loading an image sends your IP address and browser details to Unsplash, as any externally hosted image would. Fonts are self-hosted rather than pulled from Google Fonts, specifically so that they do not create a second such request.
Affiliate partners
Some outbound links to booking, tour, retail, and eSIM providers are affiliate links. Following one takes you to that company's own site, where their privacy policy applies and where they will typically set a cookie to attribute a resulting booking to us. We receive only aggregate commission reporting — never your name, payment details, or booking specifics. TheAffiliate Disclosure lists the programmes in full.
Advertising
VoyageLedger carries no display advertising as of 21 August 2026. We intend to introduce it as the site grows. When we do, the advertising partner will be named in this policy and in the Cookie Policy, and visitors in regions that require a consent prompt for advertising cookies will be shown one.
Legal bases
Where the UK or EU General Data Protection Regulation applies to you, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Legitimate interests — for server logs and security processing, to keep the site available and defend it against abuse.
- Legitimate interests — for answering correspondence you initiate, since you wrote to us expecting a reply.
- Consent — for any future advertising or analytics cookies that require it, collected through a consent prompt before those cookies are set.
Where India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act applies, we process personal data only for the purposes described here and honour the access, correction, and erasure rights it grants.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us to give you a copy of what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or receive it in a portable format. You may also withdraw consent at any time where consent is the basis we relied on.
In practice, the only personal data we are likely to hold about you is an email you sent us, so most requests come down to asking us to delete that correspondence. Write toinfo@voyageledger.com and we will respond within 30 days. There is no charge.
If you are in the UK or EU and think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to your national data protection authority. We would rather you told us first so we can fix it.
How long we keep things
- Server logs — retained by Cloudflare according to their own retention schedule, typically a short rolling window.
- Email correspondence — kept while the matter is open, and afterwards only where it documents a correction made to the site. Ask us to delete it and we will.
- Tool inputs — never stored, so there is nothing to retain.
International transfers
The site is served from a global content delivery network, which means the files are cached on servers in many countries and delivered from the one nearest you. Our email is handled by a provider that may store messages outside your country. Where these transfers involve personal data leaving the UK or EEA, they rely on the safeguards those providers have in place, such as standard contractual clauses.
Children
VoyageLedger is a travel planning resource intended for adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
This policy will change as the site does — most immediately when display advertising is introduced. The revision date at the top of the page always reflects the current version, and material changes will be described here rather than made quietly.
This policy was last revised on 21 August 2026.
