Cookie Policy
A short document, because there is not much to declare — and a note on what will change when advertising arrives.

The short version
VoyageLedger sets no cookies of its own. It runs no analytics, stores nothing from the planning tools on your device, and asks you to accept nothing. The only cookies presently reaching your browser are strictly necessary ones set by our host for security.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store, so it can be read back later. Related technologies — local storage, session storage, tracking pixels, and device fingerprinting — do a similar job by different means. This policy covers all of them, whatever the mechanism.
What VoyageLedger sets
Nothing. To be specific, as of 21 August 2026 this site does not:
- Set any first-party cookie of its own.
- Run Google Analytics, a tag manager, a pixel, or any other analytics or tracking script.
- Write your tool inputs to local storage or session storage — your passport selection, budget, and packing list exist only in the page you are looking at and vanish when you close it.
- Use fingerprinting to identify you across visits.
- Require you to accept or dismiss a cookie banner, because there is nothing to consent to.
Fonts are self-hosted rather than loaded from Google Fonts, which removes another third-party request that would otherwise expose your IP address.
Categories in use
Strictly necessary
Cloudflare, which hosts and protects the site, may set a small number of cookies to detect malicious traffic, manage load, and keep the site available. These serve no marketing purpose and cannot be switched off without breaking the site. Under UK and EU rules, strictly necessary cookies do not require consent.
Functional, performance, analytics
None in use.
Advertising and affiliate attribution
None set by this site directly. Third parties set their own once you leave for their site — see the two sections below.
Affiliate cookies
Some outbound links on VoyageLedger are affiliate links to booking, tour, retail, and eSIM companies. No cookie is set while you are reading our page. When you click such a link and arrive at the partner's site, that partner typically sets a cookie recording that you came from us, so that any resulting booking is credited here.
That cookie belongs to the partner, is governed by their cookie and privacy policies, and lasts for a window they set — from 24 hours to 30 days depending on the programme. We receive commission reporting from it, never your identity or booking details. TheAffiliate Disclosure lists every programme and its cookie window.
Advertising cookies
VoyageLedger carries no display advertising today, and so no advertising cookies. We intend to introduce advertising as the site grows, because it is what pays for the research behind the pages.
When that happens, and before any advertising cookie is set, we will:
- Name the advertising partner in this policy and in the Privacy Policy.
- Describe what their cookies do and how long they last, so this page stays a complete account rather than a historical one.
- Show a consent prompt to visitors in the UK, EEA, and anywhere else that requires opt-in before non-essential cookies are set, with a genuine option to decline.
Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time — every major browser has controls under privacy or site settings, including the option to refuse third-party cookies outright. Because VoyageLedger depends on none of them, blocking cookies will not stop any part of this site or its tools from working.
Blocking third-party cookies will prevent affiliate attribution, meaning we earn nothing if you book after visiting. That is entirely your call and costs you nothing either way.
Changes to this policy
This page will be updated whenever the answer changes, and the revision date at the top will move with it. The introduction of display advertising will be the first substantive change.
